Stop Concert Parking On Storrow Drive.
Mac Daniel writes in today's Boston Globe about parking on Storrow Drive during Hatch Shell concerts.

It was almost a year ago when we last examined this burning issue, which involves vehicles being allowed to park on Storrow Drive outbound during evening concerts at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade. The practice backs up traffic for hours on outbound Storrow and surrounding roads, and the closures are largely unannounced. To be stuck in such traffic is not much fun.

The DCR wants to hear from you about the practice. Pro and con.

Dear Director McKinney:

Thank you for your interest in the parking issue on Storrow Drive during summer concerts. I am writing to you to express my thoughts on the issue.

I strongly support putting an end to the practice of allowing cars to park on Storrow Drive during summer concerts. I believe that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. If you keep traffic open on all lanes it would make driving in Boston that much more enjoyable.

I particularly care about [MENTION ONE OR MORE THINGS YOU CARE ABOUT] because [EXPLAIN WHY THEY ARE IMPORTANT TO YOU].

As we celebrate the Independence Day it would be great if the spirit of Boston patriots such as Sam Adams could be carried on by your action to free the road of traffic jams during summer concerts on Storrow Drive.

These roads should remain open for future generations to enjoy.

As a champion of Conservation and Recreation, please help make it easier for everyone to get around town and ensure that Storrow Drive remains free and clear for generations to come.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
